Red-figure pelike

Zeus is seated on a folding stool. He is represented with head and legs in profile to the right, the body diagonally, to the same scale as the standing figure. The right forearm is extended horizontally forward, the hand with extended fingers seen on the back. The left forearm is extended obliquely upward, the hand holding a staff. The god has a pointed beard and short-cropped hair with a wreath. His dress consists of a chiton and a himation which covers the right upperarm (?).

Athena is represented standing on the lap of Zeus, head and legs in profile to the right, the body diagonally. Her dress consists of a peplos and an aigis (?). The aigis is bordered by a fringe of serpents. The goddess wears a helmet. The right arm is extended horizontally forward, with clenched fist, the left arm raised, the hand holding a spear.

There is one other deity on the picture. At the right stands a goddess, the right forearm raised obliquely upward, the left forearm extended almost horizontally forward, the hand with extended fingers seen on the back.
